im using twizlers, jubjub candies, and toothpicks. i made the model but i dont know how to label it. i have to label the fallowing: DNA, GENES, CHROMOSOMES, and ALLELES. i need hlp woth labeling!!!!plzz help thanks

Kyle r is partly right and partly wrong
you should make two homologus chromosomes and label them with the chromosome number (since they’re homologus they have the same number),
just circle each one and call it a chromosome
the molecule is DNA so just have a line or something pointing to the physical thing and call it DNA
a gene is a section of DNA, highlight or bracket part of the DNA and call it a gene, and do the same thing on the other chromosome
an allele is a version of a gene, it both codes for the same thing, but there is a variation of what it is (say you have brown hair or blond hair, they’re both genes for haircolor, yet different alleles)
maybe make one gene highlighted in yellow while the other is highlighted in pink
genes can be different even by one different base pair in the DNA
the reason why i say kyle r is partly wrong is because you’d be more likely to have a different allele on a homologus chromosome rather than a sister chromatid (the chromatids are almost exact copies of eachother and also are only from one parent, not two…i believe he means homologus chromosomes, that’s where you get the same chromosome but one from dad and one from mom)

I have a science project due next week and I’m suppose to make a 3D DNA model- and it’s suppose to be twisted. It has to be at least one foot long and I have to make it by myself- not buy it. I still don’t know how to do it… no clue… Has anyone done one before? Can anyone tell me what materials I could use or at least how to make it? plz help me!!!!

Don’t worry, I just had to do one that was due yesterday. Just buy some foam balls, wire, two bases for it to be on, paint, and wooden sticks or toothpicks. You take the toothpicks and take the painted foam balls and put them onto the toothpick which represent the two segments of that one rung of the twisted ladder. You take the two pieces of wire and put the toothpicks on to it using hot glue. The when it is dry you twist the wires with everything on them and you stick into the foam base. I need to make a 3D model of a Neuron of any sort. I want to do a sensory neuron, and my teacher really likes creativity. As in creativity with material, one kid made a gumby DNA model and he adored it! Any ideas on how i could make it? remember, be creative!
It needs to look along the lines of this
( sensory is the second picture)

remember this needs to be 3D! That means pictures, poster boards, and drawings won’t work.

A balloon in the centre and the innards of toilet rolls strung together for the arms. I’m not sure about the branches… Maybe a rubber glove with ping pong balls at the ends of the fingers for the CNS end, or tree branches for both ends with ping pong balls on the CNS end.
